David Sawyer
David has undertaken a wide range of international development and other financial consulting projects both in the UK and internationally specialising in forensic accounting and the rail sector. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (FCA), a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and a Member of the Expert Witness Institute. For some time he was a Senior Manager with KPMG, specialising in rail privatisation and accounting, audit research and development and training.
He has worked in Western and Eastern Europe, the Near, Middle and Far East, Africa, Central, South and East Asia. Recent projects have included the design and implementation of the internal audit and corporate governance approach to a DfID funded £200m education project in Pakistan for the construction and refurbishment of 21,000 schools and management of the ongoing audit function, including advice on the design of process and controls for an innovative real-time Management Information System. In Vietnam he was responsible for the audit component of a World Bank funded US$157m Northern Delta Transport Development Project to support sustainable economic growth in Northern Delta region.
